Dear Veteran,
If you’ve earned a combat medal, served in Korea, received Hostile Fire or Imminent Danger Pay, you are likely eligible to join the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
We like our members to take an active part in supporting veterans in our community, but we understand not everyone has the time or ability to be very involved. That’s okay; simply being a member places you amongst our ranks. Those strong numbers enhance our voice when addressing our government at all levels. Will you stand with us?
The VFW Department of Wyoming has 31 posts throughout the state, with three of those posts in Cheyenne. Each Cheyenne post is unique, and members should join the post that best fits their needs. Our Post, 11453, focuses on serving veterans and our community. We don’t own a building or run a bar. Instead, we raise funds through poppy donations. Those donations always go back to veterans and the community. Here are some of the agencies we’ve supported financially in the past two years.
VFW Post 11453 also supports VFW National’s efforts in recognizing our students through the Voice of Democracy and the Patriot’s Pen contests. We take part in the Smart/ Maher VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher Award. I’ve attached the latest VFW Fact Sheet for you to read.
Please consider joining our post. Call or text Jim Bush at 307-509-0839 or email vfw11453@gmail.com. Also visit vfw11453.org to see what is going on with our post.
Jim Bush
Commander,
VFW Post 11453
