Earl S. Sorensen, 88, of Cheyenne died Jan. 6 at Mountain Towers Healthcare.
He was born July 4, 1922, in Brady, Neb., to S.J. and Helen A. Sorensen. He married Beverly W. Bresnahan on Jan. 8, 1947, in Albin, she passed away on May 8, 1991. He later married Donna Roberts on July 24, 1993, in Cheyenne. He served in the U.S. Army and later was a rancher and a rural letter carrier.
He was a member of Albin Baptist Church, Moose Lodge, American Legion, VFW Post 4343, Wyoming Stock Growers, Farm Bureau, and Rural Letter Carriers Assn. His hobbies included music, horses, roping, dancing and reading.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Sorensen; children, Marie (Jim) Nelson of Santa Barbara, Calif., Carolyn (Steve) Stoner of Cheyenne, Helen (David) Baize of Salt Lake City, Utah, Scott (Jeanne) Sorensen of Cheyenne and Gayle (Jeff) Scarff of Nashville, Tenn.; step-children, Jimmy Roberts of Denver, Colo., Shirley Roberts of Lyman, Norma Roberts of Cheyenne and Linda (Ken) Schuck of Folsom, Calif.; sister, Clara Ann Nelson of Kimball, Neb.; and 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly Sorensen; his parents, S.J. and Helen Sorensen; brothers, Fred Sorensen, Bob Sorensen and Bill Sorensen; sister, Maxine Boyce; and great-grandson Cameron Stoner.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Schrader Funeral Home, with family receiving friends 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Albin Baptist Church with Jim Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in Albin Cemetery.
