On August 24, some of Cheyenne's service clubs are holding a drive for the food pantries, including Veterans' Rock. They will be at King Soopers, Safeway and North Albertsons. Customers will purchase food for the pantries and then place that food in the labeled shopping carts for each pantry. What Veterans' Rock needs is volunteers (from 0900 to 1500) to take their food from the shopping cart to VR. This particular opportunity is important since I can use the hours we work in our VFW Foundation grant request, which is how we get most of our operating funds. Please let me know if you can work any of these hours and where.

On August 29, the Homeless Veterans' Standdown takes place at the Forum (two doors down from VR). We need someone at the door to make sure the people entering for help are, in fact, veterans. I think it's from 10-3.
